ORNITHOGALUM

Ornit Saundersiae

Ornithogalum is a genus of bulbous perennials prized for their clusters of star-shaped, often white (or sometimes colored) flowers, each with six tepals, typically borne on leafless stalks above basal foliage. The blooms present a clean, elegant appearance and often feature a subtle green stripe or tinge on the outer surfaces. In floristry, these flowers are valued for their crisp lines, long vase life, and ability to lighten designs with delicate, airy structure.

In floral design, Ornithogalum is celebrated for its long vase life and is often used to add elegance and brightness to bouquets, centerpieces, and modern arrangements. In gardens, the bulbs are planted in borders, drifts, or mixed displays, where their clusters of starry blooms bring a delicate charm to spring and summer landscapes. Some species are also cultivated in pots or forced indoors for seasonal decoration.
