HISTORY

Developed through advanced breeding programs in the Netherlands, Anthurium ‘Kaleo’ belongs to a new generation of anthurium cultivars that emphasize color vibrancy, form uniformity, and durability. Its name “Kaleo” is derived from Hawaiian origins, meaning “the voice”—aptly symbolizing its ability to stand out and bring character to any arrangement. Today, it is grown in tropical regions like Costa Rica and the Netherlands for both domestic and export use.

Climate: Warm, humid tropical to subtropical climates

GROWING CONDITIONS

Requires well-draining, organic-rich soil with consistent humidity and indirect sunlight. Overexposure to direct sun can cause leaf scorching, while low light reduces color intensity. Regular watering and balanced fertilizer promote lush, glossy blooms. Post-harvest, Kaleo anthuriums have an exceptional vase life of up to three weeks when kept in clean, cool water

Symbol: Hospitality, happiness, and vitality

USES

Anthurium ‘Kaleo’ is ideal for tropical or modern floral designs, statement centerpieces, and contemporary bouquets. Its vivid hue pairs beautifully with greens, whites, or deep-colored blooms like orchids or proteas for contrast. Its sculptural form and long vase life also make it a popular choice for hotel, event, or home décor arrangements where lasting impact and color presence are desired.
