CALLA LILY CALLISTA

Calla lilies have been cultivated widely for their elegant form and long vase life. ‘Callista’ is a modern named variety prized in the cut flower trade and garden bulb market for its vivid orange-peach colour and strong stem height. It is often sold as a rhizome/bulb and appreciated for summer to autumn flowering.

Well-draining soil, fertile and moist but not waterlogged. Give full sun, or bright, indirect light with some afternoon shade in hotter zones. After flowering, allow foliage to die back then lift or protect rhizomes if winter temperatures are below safe range. Mulch moderately.

‘Callista’ is often used as a statement bloom in cut flower arrangements, where its height and vivid color draw the eye. It shines in bridal bouquets, modern arrangements, outdoor floral installations, or garden borders planning a dramatic summer display. With long, clean stems, it also suits minimalist designs where one or few stems can carry impact.
