The Alstroemeria genus originates from South America, especially the mountainous regions of Chile and Brazil. The ‘Virginia’ cultivar was bred for its pure white colouring and long vase life: an answer to growing demand for timeless, neutral florals
Climate:Cool to mild weather
GROWING CONDITIONS
Prefers cool climates and thrives in well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soils (pH 5.5–7.0). Ideal growth occurs in temperatures ranging from 13°C to 22°C. Alstroemeria Virginia enjoys filtered sunlight and should be watered regularly without waterlogging, as root rot can occur in overly moist conditions.
Symbol:Friendship, Purity, and Devotion
USES
Perfect in wedding bouquets, sympathy arrangements, or as a base flower in minimalist designs. The soft white tones make it an excellent blending flower, providing balance and structure when paired with vibrant or pastel tones. It’s frequently used to create contrast and visual space within more colourful arrangements.
